Fire Detection using UGVs (Robots)

The Unmanned Ground Vehicle

The CSIRO partner is developing the technology to:

1. Navigate ground vehicles autonomously to and from a fire-front
2. Use the vehicle to to report images, geolocation and the results of any partner sensors
3. Use the lidar data to estimate local forest characteristics, such as leaf density and tree density
