SILVANUS is proud to present the 2nd EU Green Week webinar, which will focus on presenting the current status of the project, highlighting the project outcomes in the form of implemented pilots, the development of the all-encompassing stakeholder engagement programme, and a comprehensive overview of the technical components of the SILVANUS platform.
The goal of SILVANUS is the development of an technological and climate-resilient integrated forest management platform in the fight against extreme wildfire. Currently in the middle of its second year, SILVANUS has made significant advancements, in particular by initiating the 1st trial period of pilots that will test the platform.
Two pilots (out of total 12 in 11 countries, including Brazil, Indonesia and Australia) have been implemented in Croatia and Slovakia, where technologies such as far-edge IoT devices for smoke detection, unmanned ground vehicles for water dispersion and aerial deployment for fire mitigation were validated. Data has been acquired for improvements in the integration of all the technological components that will make the SILVANUS platform an innovative and essential tool in fire prevention, suppression, and biodiversity restoration.
Description of the activities of the citizen engagement programme, emphasising the success of the SILVANUS promotional and educational campaigns on fire suppression and prevention, will also be highlighted.
