Continuous Monitoring of Rehabilitation Strategy Index (DSS-CMRSI)
Continuous Monitoring of Rehabilitation Strategy Index (DSS-CMRSI)
UP9e Continuous Monitoring of Rehabilitation Strategy Index (DSS-CMRSI) is a user product for analyzing forest conditions over time, with input from earth observation data and stakeholder entry. It provides the spatial-temporal analysis of forest conditions and the influencing factors, including societal aspects and climate changes.
This user product has following features that:
- Provide time series analysis of the forest development prior to, on fire incidents, and after forest rehabilitation.
- Monitor the forest more effectively and efficiently along with all the information on regulations, fire events, and when the rehabilitation programs start.
- Receive input for fire incidents, rehabilitation programs, policy and soil measurement, and store data of forest fire-related variables.
- Transforming the satellite image into the required index (NDVI, FCD, NBR).
- Calculate the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) in an area. NDVI is used to quantify vegetation greenness and is useful in understanding vegetation density and assessing changes in plant health.
- Calculate the Forest Canopy Density (FCD). FCD refers to the extent of tree cover in a forested area or landscape.
- Calculate the Net Burn Ratio (NBR). NBR is an index designed to emphasize burnt areas in extensive fire zones.
- Store societal-related data in a spatial-temporal manner.
- Overlay the spatial-temporal data on the base map.
